Journey Down the River Eridanos “Hyperborea”

We have decided  to support the project  JOURNEY DOWN the RIVER  ERIDANOS  because of  clear evidence  of trade routes  running through our territory. Reconstructing  the burial mound of a prince (Kalenderberg culture) in Dunajská Lúžna, part Nové Košariská, it is possible to see a geometric decoration on the pots embedded in this mound. The decoration is characteristic for the Mediterranean area.
The name of the ship “Hyperborea” was chosen from about 30 names of real antique ships. In translation it means the land  behind the northern wind and this way the ancient Greeks named  territories behind Istros, i.e. the Danube today. We commissioned  an experienced builder from Přerov – family business  Kolombus 92.  Radim Zapletal  built a lot of ships for film studios in Hollywood. He cooperated  in shooting films like  Tristram and Isolde, Narnia, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Predator vs Alien, The Mist of Avalon, Oliver Twist ...

The beginning of the project goes back to the years 2006 – 2007, however building  itself started  in early April of 2009.
